Yoga Nidra with Sound (online)
Online
with Nicole Hayman-Sherman
1 hour and 15 minutes
Yoga Nidra – also known as Yogic Sleep – is a state of consciousness similar to the process of drifting off to sleep. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness is different from meditation, in which concentration on a single focus is required. Yoga Nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. When a sound bath is added, the state of meditative calmness and balance increases. Sound baths ease stress, tension, and anxiety and have deep healing benefits. AS Nikola Tesla said, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration."

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
