Meditation has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and tension. Meditation practice can create a sense of inner peace and calm. Helps with chronic diseases and pain, strengthens the immune system against viruses, reduces cardiovascular issues and lowers blood pressure, helps with weight loss, and improves overall performance and productivity in not just adults but children too. Helps with focus, concentration, and more.
Designed for students new to meditation, those interested in reducing stress, and seasoned meditators looking to understand their meditation practice more, by increasing their knowledge and skills. We’ll also dispel myths about what meditation is and what it is not.
This series includes basic meditation instruction, an introduction to yogic breathing (pranayama), how meditation fits into yogic philosophy, as well as Buddhist (mindful) meditation, and some of the great teachers in Native American and other traditions. There will be opportunities to answer all meditation questions. The series of classes will include some light stretching and movements to promote comfort, energy, stress reduction, and an ability to focus and will include a guided meditation. After 4 weeks, participants will have discovered their best methods of meditation as well as have developed a personal meditation habit.
